I'm very excited to finally share with you this Beatrix Potter Easter Inspiration Shoot that was designed by Lily Chic Events!
|
Me.. |
The Photo Shoot took place in our little Courtyard and I hoped the weather would be perfect...but we live in Melbourne...sunny one day...rain the next...and this day turned out the latter! So up went the Marquee and the Sweets were taken in every time a drop of rain was felt...but in the end I think the setting made it more like the Lakes District...home of the creative, Beatrix.
My entire concept came from the gorgeous Paper Designs by the very talented Jen from Jennifer Birkhead Design. Jen's Peter Rabbit Print seemed to be almost 3D to me and I took the design and ran with it. Jen designed all the Food Labels, the Easter Cards, the Lollypop Tags and the Straw Flags. They all looked amazing!

Jaffa Mousse made by me.. |
I really wanted to create a feeling that you were sitting with Miss Potter dreaming about Peter Rabbit, Mopsy, Flopsy & Cottontail, Jemima Puddleduck and of course Benjamin Bunny! I loved the idea of designing with Vegetables and using different elements to come together a Style that was both old fashioned & modern all at the same time..

Kerrie's Impossible Pie |
I asked Kristie from Eternal Memories Wooden Flowers to create some Posies using the same gorgeous colours chosen for the shoot. Kristie designed the perfect bunches that sat in Old Fashioned off white milk bottles (which are available from Shoppe with Lily).
I had a vision of the cake and wanted it to represent all the colours of Miss Potters favorite colours and also to have the round dots to represent Easter Eggs. Beth from Driftwood Cakes took on my challenge and even tried a new icing technique...and it was PERFECT!

Mint & Chocolate Layered Cake |
What's a party in the garden without Vegetables? Juli from Sweet! Cupcakes and Treats created the most beautiful Vegetable Cupcake Toppers that I couldn't stop looking at them! She used Chocolate Cupcakes and then sprinkled chocolate shavings on the top to create the 'dirt'. AMAZING!
My Easter Cookies came all the way from sunny Queensland! Jenna from Love Bites Cookies & Cakes really wanted to create the perfect Vegetable Cookie...so I agreed...and create she did! They even had a touch of glitter on them that added to that charm of yesteryear..
I used ribbons to create a 3D Gingham Runner on the main table and loved the way the colours all complemented each other.
Antique teal Birdcages hung above the table which housed small wooden bunnies atop easter eggs...
I even made a Frozen Flower Jar using a Baby Food Jar and a Milk Carton!! Easy!!
The rest of the Miss Potter feast consisted of Jaffa Mousse in individual ramekins, a Cheese & Fruit Box, Easter Chocolate Bars, Lemon Curd Tarts decorated with teal roses, Lemonade flavoured Lollypops and let's not forget the delicious Impossible Pie...whose recipe was given to me by my very dear friend Kerrie from Tara K Designs...mmmm...
A huge thank you to all of my very dear friends whom I met off Facebook that wanted to be a part of this idea...I hope I showed all your creative talents off to the highest level they deserve...
The beautiful photo's were taken by Jane who owns Coco by Miss Jane. It was a delight working with you Jane and I look forward to working with you in the future (Jane will be shooting all upcoming Lily Chic Events theme's and creations).
